Here we learned more about the nature of the sarlacc, and that it could communicate with it’s victims somewhat telepathically. Tales from Jabba’s Palaceīoba’s bit in Tales from Jabba’s Palace focused on his time spent in the belly of the Almighty Sarlacc, as it did it’s best to digest him. Even with the inconsistencies with what we now know about Boba’s origins, it still proves to be an awesome short story about Boba’s rivalry with Han Solo. And while others got their start in the EU with Heir to the Empire, I was immediately drawn in to the stories in this book.īoba’s tale in this book fills in a little bit of Fett’s backstory, which would later be retconned, since this was published in 1996 before we had any idea Boba was a clone.

I’m almost certain that Tales of the Bounty Hunters was the first Star Wars book I ever read. I’m going to detail my personal list of recommended reading for anyone who wants to consume as much of the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy as they can. (A few exceptions would be the young reader novels that focus on young Boba Fett. Sure Boba looked cool on screen, but actually get to “see” him in action in the books and comics and get a sense of his personality and demeanor beyond standing around or falling into big holes in the desert was fantastic.Įver since those four books kicked off my love of Boba Fett I’ve probably consumed nearly every scrap of content that focuses on him. I’m pretty sure it has everything to do with the first Star Wars books I ever read, which were Tales from the Bounty Hunters and the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. BONUS: This original novella includes an excerpt from Star Wars: Republic Commando: Hard Contact and an interview with the author.Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters. Denounced as traitors, Fett’s Mandalorians need to stay one step ahead of their Yuuzhan Vong paymasters–and the Republic who sees them as collaborators with the most destructive enemy the galaxy has ever faced. So convincing the New Republic that they’re fighting on the same side is a tall order. Trouble is, no one trusts a man with Fett’ s reputation. Since he’ s a practical man, he’s determined help the resistance beat the Yuuzhan Vong-even if it means working with a Jedi agent. Now Fett has to choose between his honor and the survival of his people. When the Yuuzhan Vong invasion force sweeps into the galaxy, the Mandalorians find they’re on the wrong side–fighting for an alien culture that will bring about the end of their own. On the surface, it seems like just another routine contract for Boba Fett and his Mandalorian commandos, but the mystery client who hires them to start a small war is more dangerous than any of them can possibly imagine.
